26, 2018 - China Yuchai International Limited (NYSE: CYD) (“China Yuchai” or the “Company”), a leading manufacturer and
distributor of engines for on- and off-road applications in China through its
main operating subsidiary, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company Limited (“GYMCL”),
announced today that the first batch of 18 school buses powered by Yuchai engine
model YCS04160-60 have passed their emission tests and are now operating in the
city of Shenzhen.
The YCS04 engine is compliant with National VI emission standards
for use in light- to medium-duty buses and trucks. It has a displacement volume
of 4.16 liters and a maximum power output of 180 horsepower with a maximum
torque of 650 N-m. In 2018, GYMCL announced the launch of 14 new engine models
compliant with China’s National VI or Tier 4 emission standards including the
YCS04 engine model. The National VI emission standards are expected to be fully
implemented in mid-2020 in China.
The city of Shenzhen is one of the largest municipalities and a Tier
One city in southern China with a population of approximately 13.0 million
inhabitants. This order represents the pioneer batch of Yuchai’s National VI emission
technology introduced in Shenzhen.
